Welcome to your Building Industry Association
About the BIA of Philadelphia
Since it was established in 1937, the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia has become a leader in the residential development industry by taking on the big issues.
The BIA was instrumental in zoning reform efforts by providing leadership and input throughout the process that resulted in the city’s first new zoning code in more than 50 years. Now the focus is on vacant land, and the BIA is part of a critical discussion with city agencies and officials about pending land-bank legislation and other reforms that will help put vacant property back into productive use.
By working with city departments and bringing government and community stakeholders to the table, the BIA improves efficiencies in the development process and removes barriers to neighborhood reinvestment. Our members lead the discussion on green building, housing affordability, and city regulations and incentives. BIA educational forums and the annual housing conference ensure members are up to date on important issues and trends.
