BIA Green
Formed in 2007 the BIA Green Committee’s Mission Statement is: To promote the understanding and practice of environmentally-sustainable building techniques in the Philadelphia construction industry. Sustainable building incorporates design strategies and construction methods which: A. Lessen the negative impact on the environment, through ecological and energy-saving practices. B. Benefit the health and well-being of the occupants, through interior environmental quality.
The Committee develops educational events such as financing and appraising green construction, and a tour which features new homes that incorporate green features and technologies.
