Government Affairs
The BIA and its Government Affairs committee stays on top of national and state issues. But the organization's strong suit is its members' relationships with members of City government. The BIA has been consulted about building policy and process and has been instrumental in working with City agencies to develop programs and services that are fair, transparent and efficient. Beginning with the 2004 BIA-commissioned "If We Fix It, They Will Come" the BIA is proud to have brought builders' concerns to the attention of the City, and to have found a way to alleviate or mitigate those concerns and create a more modern development environment.
